Last week four of our B.G. tumblers competed at the 2009 World Age Group Championships which were held in St.Petersburg, Russia!
Jaclyn Sicard finished 22nd in the Girls 13/14 category. Unfortunately, she had a costly mistake in her 2nd run which took away her chances at a top 8 finish. She placed 5th two years ago in the 11/12 category.
Katelyn Verschoor who was competing in the Women's 15/16 category nailed two solid passes with only minor landing deductions. This was good enough for 9th place and the top Canadian in her age group.
Catherine McNutt competed in the Women's 17-18 Category. She was the only athlete in her group to compete a dbl lay in the middle of her pass. She finished up 17th after a rhythm break and watered down end skill.
Sydney Brown also competed in the Women's 17-18 category. She was last up in the last flight of qualifiers where she hit two solid and clean passes for 8th place and a spot in the finals. In finals, she went up first and improved upon the score she received earlier in the day! When all was said and done she finished 4th and was the top Canadian Tumbler at the event!
Job well done ladies! We are very proud of your efforts on the international stage!
