January - Athlete of the month
Interclub Trampoline: Matthew Hamilton
Matthew has spent the month of January building his skills for Provincial C and B Trampoline. His work ethic and discipline are to be commended as is his constant progress in the trampoline program. Congratulations!
Trampoline: Daniel Growenegen
Daniel had a great start to 2011! He competed in his first ever National level competition and hit both routines! He has since been working diligently on cleaning them up in hopes of climbing the ranks of the Novice 15+ category. All of this was accomplished while battling bad shin splints which require daily maintenance and treatment. Great Job Daniel
Tumbling: Michael Zeuner
For lack of better words, Michael worked his butt off in January! Each and every day he came in and gave over 100% in order to prepare himself for the 2nd Ontario Cup. It paid off and he hit his first of two qualifying scores to Nationals. On another note, he also began to emerge as a leader in the National group. You now hear his voice cheering on the other athletes in the gym regularly and if you watch any footage from 2nd Cup you won't be able to ignore him encouraging them and almost willing them through their passes. The raw emotion in his voice shows us that these athletes aren't just individuals but more importantly a tightly knit TEAM!
