World Cup Poland - Final

Emily Smith placed 4th today in her final appearance on the World Cup circuit. That's her 2nd consecutive 4th place finish in this seasons World Cup series.

Although she didn't come away with a medal like she had hoped, yesterday Emily made history by becoming the first Canadian Tumbler to win the preliminary event at a World Cup competition. She lead over the former 3-time World Champion and current World Silver medalists: Olena Chabonenko as well as over the current World Bronze medalist Anastasia Isupova! This was a great statement to make 8 weeks prior to the World Championships.

Emily has left no doubt that she will be contending for a top 8 finish at her final competition the 2009 World Championships. Congratulations Emily, You truly are World Class!
