
Our tumbling program had a record breaking week in Kamloops while competing in the 2010 Canadian Trampoline and Tumbling Championships! All 11 of our tumblers placed in the top 10 with 4 of them being crowned National Champion! Please see below for detailed results:
David Findlay - Open Men - Gold Medalist/National Champion
David earned his first National Title after nailing all 4 of his passes . He had the highest score of the category on each pass and a final total that would have earned a medal in the senior division. What an incredible performance!
Alicia Russell - Novice 10-14 Women - Gold Medalist/National Champion
Alicia was competing in her 1st National Championships and handled the pressure with ease! She competed brand new passes on her way to an easy victory.
Katelyn Verschoor - Youth Women - Gold Medalist/National Champion
Katelyn won her 1st ever National title with a very consistent performance and the highest level of difficulty in the level. She was one of only two girls in the entire competition to compete a pass with 2 dbl saltos. A stuck landing on her last pass put an exclamation mark on her victory!
Catherine McNutt - Senior Women - Gold Medalist/National Champion
Catherine earned her 1st National titles with two beautifully performed dbl layout to dbl pike passes! She also competed a full twisting dbl layout successfully for the first time. This was a terrific stepping stone towards potential world events later this fall.
Sean Robertson - Youth Men - Silver Medalist
Sean earned a silver medal and had the highest total difficulty for his level. He was the only athlete to compete 4 passes that each contained two dbl saltos! This was just another hit performance in what has been a great season for him.
Meghan Hefford - Open Women - Silver Medalist
Meghan competed a full twisting dbl layout on her way to the podium! She collected the highest execution marks in the category while displaying her usual speed and neat execution.
Jaclyn Sicard - Youth Women - Silver Medalist
Jaclyn earned her 2nd consecutive Silver medal at Nationals! She hit 4 solid passes and earned the highest score in the finals competition. Just another good week at work for the 2-time Provincial Champion in this category.
Colin Bassett - Open Men - 5th Place
Colin who was the youngest competitor in the category competed a dbl layout for the first time at this event! He also displayed more speed in his passes then he has all season. He saved his best for last, earning his highest pass score on his final routine.
Rebecca Zachar - Novice 15+ Women - 6th Place
Rebecca was competing at her 1st Nationals and had her top performance of the season. She competed new passes and showed them off with ease.
Lauren Robertson - Novice 15+ Women - 9th Place
Lauren competed well at her final National Championships. Her highest score came on her 4th and final pass. A good way to finish up.
Seta van der Hoop - Novice 15+ Women - 10th Place
Seta was competing in her 1st ever Nationals and delivered a very consistent performance. All 4 passes were hit to the best of her abilities. This also earned her her highest score of the season!
Women's Tumbling Team Final - Team Ontario - Gold Medalist/National Champions
Meghan, Alicia, Katelyn and Catherine were the 4 athletes who earned the right to compete in the Team Finals competition. They once again stepped up and delivered for the province earning Team Ontario it's 3rd consecutive National Title!
Men's Tumbling Team Final - Team Ontario - Gold Medalist/National Champions
David was are only BG representative in the team final. He nailed his pass and earned our highest counting score and the 2nd highest in the competition. This led Team Ontario to it's first National Title since the event was re-vamped in 2008.
What a phenomenal performance from our B.G.'s Tumblers! It is not one that will be easily topped! Congratulations to everyone for their amazing accomplishments!
