Congratulations to the 3 B.G. tumblers who participated in this weekend's Elite Canada. All 3 athletes qualified themselves to the Canadian National Team and set new National bests for themselves!
Katelyn Verschoor competed a new personal best difficulty record (including her dbl tuck to dbl pike) on her way to a 3rd place finish in Thursday's preliminary round. In the final she had a large rhythm break which unfortunately forced her to stop and place 10th.
Catherine McNutt rocked the preliminary round, nailing her dbl lay to dbl pike and twist pass with ease. She secured herself a spot on the Senior National Team and 2nd place on day 1. In finals she over rotated her dbl pike and sat down pushing her to 4th in the standings.
Our girls were the only athletes pushing the difficulty envelope by attempting and completing passes with two double salto's! Great Job ladies!
Sean Robertson competed both tumbling and dmt at this event. On double mini, Sean was one of only 3 athletes to attempt a triple back salto. Unfortunately he touched his hands which in return cost him a spot in the final.
On tumbling, he was rock solid from start to finish placing 5th in both prelims and finals! He competed a new difficulty record by having two passes each containing two dbl salto's!! Way to go Sean!
